You can always count on Bisolvon® Chesty when you or your loved ones have a chesty cough. But as we all know: prevention is better than cure. Follow these useful tips to boost your chances of staying healthy this cough and cold season.

How to help prevent chesty cough

  • Your immune system is your first line of defence against chesty cough: enjoy a balanced diet, get enough sleep and avoid cigarettes.
  • In colder weather, wrap up warmly – remember to check for cold feet!
  • Avoid very dry air. If necessary, use a humidifier to keep the air in a room healthy and moist.
  • Stop the spread of the bacteria and viruses that cause chesty cough: wash hands with warm water and soap, then dry then thoroughly.

How to help prevent dry cough

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet. Get your vitamins and minerals naturally for a strong immune system
  • Is your dry cough the result of an allergy? Be aware of allergens and eliminate them wherever possible.
  • Get rid of dust, cigarette smoke, chemicals and other environmental irritants that may trigger dry cough.
  • Teach your kids good hygiene habits to reduce the spread of viruses that can cause dry cough.

No-one enjoys having a cold or flu. Avoid the colds and flu all together by following these tips.

How to help prevent cold and flu

  • Colds and flu are contagious: if possible, stay away from enclosed, crowded places such as trains and airplanes during the worst of the flu season.
  • Ask your doctor about flu vaccinations for you and your loved ones.
  • Coughs and sneezes spread germs, so ensure everyone uses disposable tissues and washes their hands after cough or sneezing.
  • Get plenty of rest: after a bout of illness, give yourself enough time to fully recover before returning to your normal routine.
